A moment's walk from the devilishly gothic Edmundsbury Cathedral and the beautiful Abbey gardens, the Grid Grill is an independent bistro serving brunch, lunch and dinner. The Grill’s culinary wizards grid-lock palates with a creative menu, using the best quality cuts and local produce where possible. Sitting amidst the cosy backdrop, with classic wooden floorboards, diners can complement plates full of fodder while mulling over a choice of well selected international tipples and locally brewed beer. And for those that prefer their tonic not too alcoholic, there's a host of thirst quenching Suffolk made juices and roasted Italian coffee too.
This cosy bistro offers hungry dine-izens contemporary and classic British cuisine by the plateful, with gourmet menus of artfully prepared dishes. Choosing a starter from the light dishes menu, customers can sate stomachs with the mussels mariniere, cooked in a white wine sauce and served with fries (£5.25) or the hoi sin duck and cucumber salad (£4.95). Mains comprise of hearty classics such as open steak and kidney puff pie with baby new potatoes and savoy cabbage (£9.95), and the chicken burger with bacon and cheddar, served with fries and salad (£12.95). Desserts (up to £5.95) are chalked in daily, to keep sweet teeth on their toes.

We booked for my mother in laws birthday and the meal and service we had were outstanding, we all had the specials, which were cooked to perfection. All the champagne and wine was nicely chilled and there was a good selection. The restaurant had a nice buzz
