Set in acres of prime East Yorkshire countryside and featuring a challenging nine hole course with a driving range, this golfing Shangri-La is a one stop shop for various ball clubbing activities. Cherry Burton Golf Club also sports a well-stocked pro shop where the latest clobber can be picked up, clubs can be fitted, and binoculars can be bought by anyone on the lookout for those birdies. Members and visitors can kick back in the spacious and licensed club house, where a menu full of hearty tucker is available.
Fuelled by a bacon sandwich and a cup of coffee, two or four golfers can step out onto the 3240 yard course and brace themselves for two testing nine hole rounds. Although relatively short in length the course is characterised by numerous water hazards and multi-tier greens. Two par fives will give big hitters the chance to really open up, but clever shot choice is the recommended tonic for carding a good score. A well-earned meal of pie, chips, veg and gravy will await players back in the club house.
