Just as motels were developed by motorcars for the easy recharging of their drivers, hotels were introduced by horses to get their human cajolers off their backs. Dismount and dig in with today’s Groupon options from The Craiglands Hotel:• £69 for a one night stay with afternoon tea, a glass of house wine and breakfast for two (£157.90 Value)
• £99 for a two night stay with afternoon tea, a glass of house wine and breakfast for two (£278.90 Value)
Set within six acres of landscaped grounds and woodland, the Craiglands Hotel has a 150 year history of hospitality, and is one of the most finely situated hydropathic establishments in the area. The Craiglands is the only former hydro in Ilkley to continue as a hotel, having replaced the electro-chemical baths with the more conventional and less sparky en-suite alternative. The hotel’s restaurant has French windows that open onto a terrace, from where the air can be taken and the view enjoyed in full nineteenth century style.
Groupon holders can treat a friend, loved one, or enthusiastic otter to one or two nights at The Craiglands Hotel with today’s deal. An ample afternoon tea and a glass of house wine are included, and breakfast is available for those who want to stoke up for a day’s foray around Yorkshire.
Although some reviews of the hotel have been mixed, reviewers are in agreement that the staff are friendly and that the Craiglands is set in an excellent location. LateRooms users gave an average score of four out of six, while comments from Booking.com reviewers were also largely positive, they gave a rating of 7.2 out of ten and noted the stylish modern décor in some of the newly refurbished rooms.
I took the family away for a few days over half term and fortunately found this place last minute. Everything was great from the word go, an impressive exterior on the drive up, superb reception experience (1st impressions & all that), spacious well equipt [sic] room & a great breakfast to boot.

It was absolutely brilliant! The room was immaculate, as was the rest of the public areas of the hotel. What made this stay exceptional though were the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them - all we had to do was ask. They were happy and smiling throughout our visit, and so courteous.
