Regular performers Sully O'Sullivan and Sam Harland have been known to deliver material that covers their exotic roots in New Zealand and Hull respectively, with Sam's formal training as an actor lending him a keen stage presence. The bar serves a selection of chilly drinks, and patrons can loll around on any number of the brightly coloured stools, seats, and benches that adorn the room.

Reviews
While yet to received widespread feedback, Mr Bens was rated a rib-tickling 4.5/5 by TripAdvisors and 4/5 by Yelpers. Visitors gave high praise to the venue’s relaxed, intimate feel, along with the quality and variety of the acts themselves.
Located on Albion Street, customers are required to descend the brightly decorated stairway into the bar. I find this type of basement venue especially comforting on dingy days, when a spot of escapism is desired. The decor has a rather bohemian feel about it, colourful yet informal and homely.
– Kate H., Yelp, Mar 2010
Heckling is discouraged, and the audience appear to be there for the comedy, rather than for a warm up before a night out. Consequently, the type of comedians seemed to be slightly more experimental and thoughtful, though there was a wide variety in the four acts we saw.
