Though revered for their common sense, horses often treat greetings as an opportunity for quick snack. Say ‘hay’ to a new experience with today's Groupon from Newthorpe Equestrian Centre. Choose from the following options:
• £24 for a two-hour ride or trek for one (52% off)• £39 for a one-hour trek for four (61% off)

Saddling up with a range of horses and ponies, Newthorpe Equestrian Centre blazes trails through the West Yorkshire countryside with rides and lessons for cowboys of all abilities. Indoor and outdoor riding arenas cater for riders from novice to advanced levels, and the centre’s lessons and show-jumping events highlight local talent. Introducing youngsters to horsemanship with pony days and events, the club also homes a range of horses in elegant livery stables.
Keen equestrians can take the reins for two hours of wind-through-hair cantering at the centre, making for the hills on a ride or trek, depending on the level of experience. The 120-minute rides will aim to group riders of similar skill levels together for a panoramic and rural countryside experience. Alternatively, groups of four can take advantage of 30 acres of outdoor trails surrounding the centre during an hour-long trek. Designed for families and beginner riders, the trek will aim to improve equestrian ability as riders head for the horizon.
