Existing as a public house for more than 350 years, The Blacksmiths Arms provides both a traditional welcome and historical setting to drink and dine, ingest and imbibe. Standing proud through Stuart and Victorian times, as well as through the modern day flooding of the city, the pub is now run by a husband and wife team with a keen gastronomic emphasis, serving hearty British fare in front of either the roaring fireplace or out in the serene garden. The pair also sells produce, such as organic vegetables and farm eggs, from the premises.

We visit regularly now we have a boat at the local marina. You are always greeted by friendly staff, the food we have had has been excellent. We are slowly working our way through the menu. The steaks are fab, love the prawn cocktail and the home made coleslaw is to die for! They also make a great Irish coffee, what else do you need. Looking forward to our next visit. [sic]
