Before à la carte there was the à la cartwheel, a menu of light dishes devised for diners who enjoy a spot of postprandial gymnastics to aid digestion. Turn taste buds upside-down with today's Groupon from The Yard Ilkley. Choose from the following options:
• £11 for a main course of pub fare for two with wine (Up to 63% off)• £20 for a main course of pub fare for four with wine (Up to 66% off)

This contemporary gastro pub exhibits rustically styled decor, ushering clients in with a traditional warm Yorkshire welcome and hearty menu that equally stands its ground. The classic Sunday roasts are accompanied by home-made starters and desserts that aim to stop tummies rumbling and sweet teeth yearning for more. Food is cooked using as much locally sourced, seasonal produce as possible, and the outside seating area takes prime position within one of Ilkley’s only south-facing gardens.
Pairs or quartets can enjoy mains such as the trio roulade of chicken, stuffed with brie and wrapped in pancetta (£10.95) or spinach, wild mushroom and feta cheese lasagna for more herbivorous diners (£7.95). Lighter bites are available for lunchtime foodies such as homemade scotch duck egg (£6.25) served with black pudding stack and rustic piccalilli, or goats' cheese and plum tomato tartlet sweetened with red onion marmalade accompanied by a rocket garnish (£5.95). A medium glass of wine will be served up for each guest to help wash down the culinary delights.
Reviews
The Yard has received fine reviews from satisfied diners. Although some diners found servings inconsistent, reviewers heap praise upon the eatery’s welcoming atmosphere and the quality of cuisine and service.
We shared the confit of duck starter which was delicious before I had the venison which was stunning, and my partner had the pork belly which was unusually served with rhubarb. The waitress advised us that this was one of their signature dishes. I can see why, although pork belly is not something I would order, it looked amazing and I am told tasted every bit as good as it looked! Unfortunately we were both too full for a dessert [sic], however we will be back soon. Highly recommended, and in our opinion up there with Ilkley's finest.

The service was seamless and very friendly. The seafood pancake was just what I was hoping for very tasty with a really good amount of seafood filling. I would definatley [sic] order it again. My son really enjoyed his burger and chips and again the staff were only too happy to do a childs portion.
