A whirling world of stomach-stealing rides, ghost trains, and family-friendly water flumes, Pleasure Island Family Theme Park unveils a fantasy landscape on the coast of Cleethorpes. The adrenaline-fuelled extravaganza of high altitude and mega-velocity playthings provides fun for tiny tots and grown-up thrill seekers alike, spread across six themed areas ranging from White Knuckle Valley to Kiddies Kingdom, where the most junior juniors rule the roost.

Knuckle-blanching rides include the Boomerang, a loop-the-looping rollercoaster with more than one twist, and Hyperblaster, which drags riders through g-force 3 before freefalling to the ground. The lighter of heart can glide in the flying chairs or float in the aquaspheres, while water rides, a runaway mine train, and the classic ghost train provide shrieks and giggles for the big, little, and un-dead alike. Elsewhere, mini dodgems and a tame gater-coaster get tiny arms waving in the air.

Rolling up to the Cleethorpes park, one, two, or four playful patrons can indulge their inner daredevil from 10.30am until closing at 4.30pm or 5.30pm, and admission also includes all family shows. Anti-gravity skills are flaunted by the African Acrobats and sea lions display their mastery of basketballs, while the bird show promises wily parrots and feathery tricks from Jethrow, Ollie and pals. All tickets are valid for guests of any age, while children aged three or younger, and any imaginary friends, are welcome to tag along free of charge.

Reviews

Pleasure Island has been rated an encouraging 3.5/5 by TripAdvisors. While opinions varied on the food and some rides, visitors generally agreed it made a great addition to a family trip to the seaside, and enjoyed the shows.

The complex is mainly outdoors which is great during the sunshine weather in summer, there are shows and rides inside, my particular favourite being the parrot show, it's just hilarious and good fun.

I usually go with friends and all our children - and every time, it's been great. Plenty of rides for the under 10's, and hardly any queuing, so the whole day is spent going on rides instead of standing in queues. The live shows are also very good, especially the Sea Lions.
