Some people like to indulge in a dinner that’s fit for a king, but others find that crowns and velvet cloaks can be a little taxing on the palate. Crown a baronial banquet with today's Groupon from Ashfields Restaurant. Choose from the following options:
• £22 for two courses of British fare plus coffee and liqueurs for two people (Up to 65% off)• £42 for two courses of British fare plus coffee and liqueurs for four people (Up to 66% off)

Plating up time-tested British tucker with a cheeky European twist, Ashfields Restaurant recently leapt in to its twenty-fifth year as a traditional family run eatery. The menu merges hearty old fashioned dishes with contemporary culinary flair, while a seasonal spread is drizzled with locally sourced meat, fish, and veg wherever possible. Tucked away on the Earl Shilton High Street, the restaurant’s exterior welcomes with walls entwined by climbing foliage, while the interior treats with bright and airy colours to complement happy palates.
Guests can tuck in to two courses, choosing to pair a main course with either an appetiser or indulgent dessert. The starting menu features the like of a sea bass fillet sprinkled with prawns and capers (£7.25), and baked goats cheese served with garlic bread (£6.50). Mains include roasted rump of lamb (£18.95), and vegetarian puff pastry mille feuille (£12.50). Those who opt to treat the sweet teeth can peruse options that include vanilla panna cotta, and chocolate fondant with a gooey centre (all £5.50). Whatever the choice, all dinners can be washed down with a coffee each (up to £1.95) and a nifty liqueur to finish up (£3).
Reviews
Ashfields is rated a highly favourable 4.5/5 stars by TripAdvisors. Reviewers commend the quality of cuisine, attentive personnel and welcoming atmosphere.
The duck I last dined on was excellent as good as anywhere. Wine list is reasonable with a good range at decent prices. You have to book which is not surprising, but worth it. The bar gets a bit overcrowded but the reservations as a whole are well managed so the wait is not overly long. Staff are attentive and charming. This place will not let you down.
