Nestled in the fringes of historic Leicestershire town Ashby De La Zouch, The Beeches is traditional pub that prides itself on producing top quality English and continental cuisine. The five full-time chefs all provide a signature dish to sit alongside the seasonal menu of traditional pub fare, and a carvery is provided from Tuesday to Sunday to get gnashers grinding. There is also a daintier menu of snacks or lighter meals for those in need of a nibble while they drink. A large beer garden and play area adds to the family-friendly demeanour, and evening entertainment is provided in the form of sizzling Monday curry nights, brain-bashing Tuesday quizzes, open mic nights, and the Beeches’ very own ‘Rock n Roll Bingo’.
Fans of hearty British sustenance can begin proceedings with a choice of starters including grilled goats cheese (£4.25) or prawn cocktail (£3.95). Choice abounds for the main event in the form of the Woodman’s steak, a 10 oz rump topped with stilton cheese (£11.95) or the brie, potato and corgette crumble served with salad garnish and garlic sauce (£7.95). Meals can be deliciously complemented by a large glass of fruity Spanish Rioja (£4.80) or a richer and darker Italian Primitivo (£4.80).
