Voted the Northamptonshire Pub or Bar Restaurant of The Year 2010/2011, the 19th century Olde Red Lion is a traditional pub which uses locally sourced produce where possible, to carve out real British food from the rural midst of Kislingbury.
Taking place in cosy, scarlet-hued confines of the pub’s Hunters Restaurant, diners can take their pick from a main course featured on the à la carte menu. The very British affair could include the likes of the venison steak served with a beetroot and celeriac dauphinois and an autumn berry jus (£18.95), the whole-baked lemon sole with pesto crushed new potatoes, spinach, and a caper and lemon parsley butter (£16.95), or the slow-roasted belly of pork in a cider cream mustard sauce (£14.95). Herbivorous palates can be pleased with a meat-free option, such as the vegetable frittata served with a seasonal salad (£12.95).
