Eating with your mouth open may be perceived as rude, can be a little off-putting, and increases the risk of catching low-flying frisbees. Aim for something more appetising with today’s Groupon: £23 for a two course Indian meal for two with popadoms, rice and naan each at Ashiana Indian Restaurant.
Extending a warm welcome to incoming diners with exotic spices and fragrant aromas, Ashiana Indian Restaurant fuses traditional Bangladeshi recipes with innovative, signature cuisine. The chef tweaks flavours to satisfy individual sets of taste buds, catering for every palate and creating a unique dining experience for each customer. Decorated with decadent chandeliers, exposed high ceiling beams and mahogany brown, leather seating, this fine dining eatery provides a classy yet relaxed setting where patrons can enjoy their culinary adventure.
Diners can crunch down on two popadoms each (£0.95) and a selection of pickles (£2.95) while mulling over starter options. Selections include a Hyderabad baby lamb kebab spiced with cinnamon, cardamom and Bengal gram, packed with mint and onions (£4.75), mushrooms stuffed with potatoes and spices and grilled until golden (£4.25), or a selection of mixed starters including tandoori grilled kebabs (£5.95). For the main event, options include the chef’s Tandoori mixed grill of chicken, lamb and seafood (£13.95), as well as a wide array of sub-continental favourites, with a plump selection of vegetarian choices. Dishes are accompanied by any rice, such as mushroom pilau (£3.20) and a naan each, such as a pershwari or keema naan (£2.95). Patrons too full for the journey home can crash upstairs at the Ashiana hotel for an additional £35 per night.
Ashiana is rated a superb 8.3/10 by Top Tablers. Although some guests encountered a wait for service, reviewers are keen to praise the quality and authenticity of the Indian cuisine, as well as the inviting atmosphere and attentive personnel. The eatery was also included in Top Table’s List of Scotland’s Top 100 restaurants.
Excellent, service, good food! We both had Vegetarian meals at Ashiana in North Muskham, close to Newark. Restaurant recommended by B&B we stayed at. It was a great choice, really tasty dishes and truly attentive service.

The food at Ashiana Newark is excellent and good value for money. The venue is busy and has a good atmosphere.
