While strong willed potatoes withstand boiling, mashing and roastings, Spanish patatas bravas are the
most courageous of them all. Let fortune favour your plate with today’s Groupon: £22 for eight tapas dishes to share between two and a drink each at Finos at The Waterfront.
Perched on Southport’s Marine Lake waterfront, is a touch of the Med in the chic authentic tapas restaurant, with a contemporary take on Spanish food prepared by an award winning head chef Paul Samuel Elackman. Having lived in Spain and embarked on a working tour of Andalucia, the Basque region and a spell in North Africa, the well-travelled chef snapped up the award for Restaurant of the Year North West with his Pacific Bar and Grill eating establishment in Liverpool. Bringing back a whole heap of Spanish influences, a rustic but modern edged menu using the finest in locally sourced produce was flavourfully formed.
Fans of Mediterranean infused finger food can feast on a mouth-watering menu whilst peering out onto the Southport waterfront. Parties of two can get to work on a spread of cold dishes including a rocket and manchego cheese salad swirled in a sherry dressing (£4.95) and sample a fusion of cultures with sweet and sour melon balls with jamon (£4.95). Taste buds in need of some warming up can taste the gambas pil-pil, pan fried king prawns with chilli and garlic (£5.95) or slurp on a tomato and herb broth laced with mussels and chorizo (£4.95). Palettes are swept clean with a glass of cava or sherry (or a non-alcoholic cousin) each.
