Glimmering with four star acclaim, this once private residence has many an award to its name. Now a luxury hotel, Rothay Garden sits in two-acre grounds with fells sheltering it on the fringes. Suites are aptly named after their views of the river, gardens, or lofty heights and both the restaurant and spa pitch a green-gazing spot. The Garden Restaurant has two AA rosettes proudly pinned to its chest, with fine wines and regionally sourced produce on the menu. The Riverside Spa sports monsoon showers and a herbal pine sauna and the spa itself boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that give spectacular views of the surrounding panorama.

I don’t think I can fault it. Great value, great staff, everything was effortless quality without any flashy pretence. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again or recommend to others.
