About the Alexander Technique
Poised to leave a harmonising impression on minds and bodies, the Alexander Technique pirouettes on holistic principles. It teaches that wellbeing is associated with the understanding of synchronised physical and mental co-ordination, and is designed to complement balance, poise, and joint mobilisation. To this end, teaching employs both verbal instruction and gentle hands-on guidance to help people recognise good posture and movement.
Renewing postures in the Liverpool and Chester areas, Alexander Technique Studio is led by experienced teacher Janet Pinder-Emery, who coaches people of all ages in the hope of tackling, amongst other things, tension and strains, problematic posture and uneven weight distribution. For over 26 years she has focused on helping clients understand past problem habits and changing them for the better. One-on-one as well as group lessons are available for citizens from all walks of life and are particularly effective for performers such as musicians, actors and athletes.
Soon-to-be Alexander aficionados will be able to attend a one-hour introductory session at the Liverpool centre, where they’ll hear explanations about and experience demonstrations of the Alexander Technique. The tutor will then tailor the session to the needs and wishes of the customer, getting to the root of posture problems and helping customers feel more flexible.
