Setting the stage requires organisation skills, perfect lighting, and an industrial sized plaster mould. Get in on the act with today’s Groupon : £19.95 for two course dinner for two with coffee at Circo.
Taking centre stage on the Albert Dock, Circo is the ringleader in the field of dining and evening entertainment, with a unique take on an eccentric circus theme evident throughout its dazzling bar and restaurant. With a menu that boasts an eclectic blend of European and international cuisines, the restaurant’s intimate booth style seating and richly coloured décor go hand in hand to make the show stopping dining establishment burst at the seams with pizazz. The freaks really do come out at night at the self-appointed ‘freak shows’ where live acts from pole dancers to fire eaters take to the stage to bedazzle and surprise as appetites are being satiated.

Juggling a menu with many a trick up its sleeve, diners can tuck into a starter of duck spring rolls (£5.95) served with a spiced plum dipping sauce. Swinging over to the mains via trapeze, a 10oz rib eye steak with cracked black pepper sauce and accompanied by homemade chips, a grilled tomato and sautéed mushrooms (£16.75) should cause a stir. Swapping savoury for sweet, the Circo chocolate fondant (£5.50) is bound to steal the limelight for the evening. Nightcaps will materialise in the form of a hot cup of coffee, with options including lattes and cappuccinos (£2.25) .

Reviews
Circo receives a satiating 3/5 rating on TripAdvisor. Several reviewers commended the food, but some thought the price to be a bit dear.
Good food, unusual decor well worth a visit if you are in the area.

We stopped by Circo for a Sunday brunch and chose to sit outside and take advantage of the warm October we were having. Although we chose more bistro style food, steak baguette, with fries, etc., it was all served hot and fresh by very pleasant waiting staff.
