Sticks and blades swing into action at Liverpool Sefton Hockey Club, as men and women of all abilities engage in rivalries across a number of competitive leagues. Young and old alike are welcome to find the net at Sefton, with the Beavers team accepting fledgling free-hitters to have the first pop at the sport. The club is no stranger to silverware either, with the 1st XI being crowned National Plate Competition winners in 2006. 
Legs can be stretched as they are trained in the finer points of field hockey. The classes are designed to be suitable for all, whether old-hands seeking to perfect their skills or rookies keen to learn the difference between scoops and slide-ins. Hockey sticks are available for beginners, but participants are required to bring their own sports clothing and shin guards. The sessions are held at Wyncote Sports Ground every Wednesday night, and last for one hour apiece.
