A short hop from the seaside town’s glittering array of wave-making attractions, the hotel beckons guest back inside with refurbished rooms and seafront views. The new restaurant, The Dining Rooms, serves up a wide selection of dishes created from fresh ingredients prettily plated up, and a peaceful decked terrace offers the opportunity to drink in the sun on dazzling days.
Southport sojourns include a five course taster menu meal, which changes seasonally but may include a pre-starter such as tempura prawn cocktail; a starter such as seared filet of beef with radish, parmesan, rocket salad and truffle mayonnaise; and a selected main course like pan-fried chicken supreme with goats cheese, chorizo, and patatas bravas. Pudding is prefixed by a brie and blue cheese platter, and the sweet finish could be sticky toffee pudding or chocolate brownie, rounded off with freshly ground coffee. A bottle of house wine is provided to accompany the meal, after which well-filled guests can slip into an en suite double room with satellite TV and complimentary toiletries.
