Often demonstrating a calamitous sweet tooth, Mediterranean bandits can be easily identified due to their malfunctioning pastry based baklavas. Rumble some belly rumbling baddies with today’s Groupon: £24 for a Mediterranean sharing meze for two at Amphora Restaurant and Wine Bar.
Serving up modern Mediterranean cuisine and handmade helpings of meze, this restaurant instils local residents with its contagious warmth of spirit. The chefs craft delectable dishes with homespun stocks and sauces before they are complemented with artistic cocktails, or wine poured from the well-stocked bar.
Guests eager to indulge in some culinary sharing can take a seat in the open plan restaurant before browsing through the á la carte menu. The feast is comprised of eight appetising dishes, with five cold plates consisting of a possible hummus (£3) or taramasalata (£3). Deep fried calamari (£4.95) served with tartar sauce while the grilled Turkish sausage (£3.95) may appeal to spicier sensibilities. The affair is rounded off with two desserts, with pannacota (£3.95) or crème brule (£4.25) among the toothsome options.
