Role reversal is a popular technique for conflict resolution, gaining more experience or solving the problem of dropping an open bap butter-side down. Be the early worm that catches the birds with today's Groupon: for £18 instead of the £78 get up close and
personal with some high flyers at the Birds of Prey Centre.
Situated in the beguiling grounds of the Shuttleworth Estate, the Birds of Prey Centre is home to over
200 birds of prey with a range of species that includes owls, hawks, eagles, falcons, kites, vultures and even pelicans. Bird lovers of all generations attend the Centre to learn more about feathery flappers or to catch a glimpse of some rare and endangered species and some will even leave having added a fledgling to their family through the adoption scheme. Upcoming events include a picnic with owls, meet and greets with eagles and hide and seek with storks.
Groupon holders get to experience
the thrill of handling, watching and learning all about birds of prey in a half day introductory course. The day will begin at 9.45am, when guests will meet their friendly falconer and get to know more about caring for birds over sips of coffee. Having drained mugs, participants will then be led on a guided tour of the centre, meeting the glinting, deep gazes of the many different species on display. The falconer will be happy to field any questions about any of the birds or the Centre before the business end of the day. Customers will have the opportunity to fly the birds for themselves (under supervision), including the Harris Hawk and the Chilean Eagle. The morning ends at 1pm, at which point tea and cake will be served to round off an alternative but enjoyable outing.
