This little piggy went to market ... and found a delicious selection of local produce for his gourmet dinner party; this little piggy stayed at home. Don't be the piggy who stays at home with today's Groupon: £29 for fine British cuisine for two with a bottle of wine at The English Pig in Barbican.
Johnnie Mountain, owner of The English Pig, has worked in top class kitchens for the past 20 years, including such places as the Fat Duck. Johnnie has been featured on the BBC's Great British Menu, he has been Nintendo's ambassador for their cookery Wii game, he has an iphone app, a book, and more TV work imminent. The menu at The English Pig changes daily, showcasing a range of taste-sensational seasonal ingredients.
Curly tailed Groupon piggies can enjoy an evening of fine dining, choosing a starter and main each, with a bottle of red or white wine to share. The menu currently includes: starters of seared scallops with black pudding, pea puree and cassava crisps, or smooth white onion soup; mains feature jerusalem artichoke risotto, or the signature 16 hour braised pork with wild mushrooms, beans and potatoes.
