Every four years another builder is disappointed when they realise they’re fencing expertise isn’t going to win them Olympic gold. Put up a fight with today’s Groupon: £25 for a four week beginners' fencing course at Fighting Fit Fencing. Choose from the following options:
With weapons raised and senses sharpened, Fighting Fit Fencing gets students en garde as they offer tuition in the historic sport of fencing, one of only four sports to have been featured at every one of the modern Olympic Games. Offering taster sessions and introductory courses, the experienced blade bearers lead students safely towards pointed success, as they teach them how to lunge, parry, and riposte with fleet footed poise.
During these four consecutive classes over as many weeks course combatants will learn all the basics required to elicit numerous calls of “touché”. The first week introduces health and safety, footwork basics, and the rules, as well as offering the chance to engage in some fencing bouts. In weeks two and three the parry, riposte, feint, and disengage will be taught and more bouts will take place so skills can be refined. In the final week students will get a chance to try some electric fencing, without getting shocked, and there will be a competition with prizes up for grabs.
