About The Event
Pennies hiding behind ears and rabbits inhabiting hats take a back seat for five weeks of expert sorcery as magician and company director Richard Leigh unleashes his Festival of Magic on Baron’s Court Theatre. The theatre tucked inside The Curtain’s Up pub makes for intimate enchantments as the magical production company celebrates its tenth birthday by inviting back old acts and creating brand new illusions. The Side Show of Wonders is a family-friendly matinee based in an old-school circus and fairground, while The Magic Symphony is a mash up of classical music and contemporary card tricks.
While some shows conjure close up trickery and nerve wracking brain scramblers, the bar is on hand with real ales and pub grub to ease baffled minds. The theatre holds approximately 60 awe-struck audience members in its Kensington hideout, in a reality vortex equidistant from West Kensington and Barons Court underground stations. Many shows offer suitable entertainment for pint sized patrons, with shows upping their curtains at a bedtime friendly 3pm, while the dark and dangerous Magick and Mayhem show has a strictly adult only 10pm start.
