Providing creature comforts for more than 200 animals, this registered charity has sheltered rescued horses, donkeys, and bunnies for over 30 years. The sanctuary is run by volunteers and is open to the public from 1pm to 4pm, seven days a week. The on-site cafe serves up refreshments after an afternoon’s fluffy safari.
Families of four can hop along to meet the farmyard friends with a day entry ticket. Goats can be fed, guinea pigs tickled, and horses and donkeys greeted when they trot over to say hi. There will also be talks about the animals, as adults sip a cup of tea or coffee each. Visiting families will go home with a magnet or key ring of choice as a keepsake of the trip, with plenty of animal designs to choose from.
