Serving up a spicy sample of Siam banqueting, the Thai River collective is a clutch of vibrant restaurants with a common menu of eastern-inspired morsels. Located in a quiet residential street, the Paddington branch boasts a welcoming dark wood interior and outdoor tables for Thai-infused alfresco dining. Sister restaurant Garden & Grill in Portobello Road also offers intimate dining inside and out, with twinkling fairy lights adorning the charming roof terrace, while the Foley Street branch revels in a majestically central location close to Goodge Street.

Available at three Thai River branches, the banquet begins with options such as gai satay: chicken in peanut sauce (£5.25) or the starter platter selection (£11) to share between two. Afterwards, a main course each can be picked, accompanied by a serving of fried, jasmine, or sticky rice per person (up to £2.95). Mains include suea rong hai: a Thai-style sirloin steak with dark herbal sauce (£13.95); and pla nung manow: steamed whole sea bass topped with garlic, lemon and chilli sauce (£15.95). While yet to be widely reviewed, Thai River branches on Portobello Road and Foley Street have received encouraging comments from Yelp and Book A Table users respectively, while both Google and TripAdvisor reviewers awarded Thai River Paddington a tasty 4/5. Visitors gave special mention to the roof terrace at Portobello Road, the service at Foley Street, and the quality of the Thai cuisine in the Paddington branch.

Their upstairs garden area is actually plastic coated (hopefully only for the winter season) and heating lamps abound so you get the natural light and ability to look down and people-watch while staying relatively cozy warm.
