Dining in pairs is usually better than dining in strawberries, which can get you into a jam. Make a sweet selection with today’s Groupon: £39.50 for three courses of classic British fare for two at The Hansom Cab.

Taken over and lavishly modernised by the galloping duo of Piers Morgan and Marco Pierre White, The Hansom Cab is a good-looking Victorian establishment in Kensington. Traditional pub warmth can be found inside, with a roaring open fire and a range of pints on offer, and plenty of original features providing a comforting draw. Black wooden panelling and a marble bar add a modern twist to the metropolitan masterpiece, while a menu designed by Marco Pierre White canters ahead with a colourful array of reimagined British and Mediterranean classics.

A carefully composed starter, main course, and pudding can be chosen from the set menu, including rib-eye steak with triple-cooked chips and sauce béarnaise. Fresh ingredients abound, and vegetarians are also able to request an alternative for the main event.

Reviews
The Hansom Cab has garnered a great deal of glowing reviews, with TripAdvisors awarding the eatery a mouth-watering 4/5 stars. Although some visitors thought the venue was caught somewhere between restaurant and pub, reviews on the whole are very positive, celebrating in particular the innovative, hearty food and welcoming ambience.
Yes, it reminds you of a pub, but this is much more of a restaurant with a (really good) bar… Rupert, the Manager, was keeping a watchful eye on the proceedings, and his helpful and welcoming staff made us feel good right from the start. The menu is shortish (it's due to expand so we were told), and had a few old favourites - we tried the Pea and Ham Soup, the Salad of Beetroot and Goat's Cheese, and the Carpaccio of Yellow Fin Tuna. Thumbs up! Followed by Dover Sole (a tad pricey, but very tasty), and York Ham with fried Duck Eggs. No room sadly for the tempting and creative looking desserts, but some excellent Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc and coffee helped everything down...[sic]
