According to the latest expert research, the best way to overcome stress is to not think about it lurking just around the corner, hiding in your dreams, waiting to pounce, in the shape of The Joker flashing a grin and a dentist drill. On the other hand, there's today's Groupon: £99 for a two night stay for two with breakfast, afternoon tea and a glass of bubbly on arrival at the White Horse Hotel.
Located two miles from historic Hertford, The White Horse Hotel is an idyll of tranquillity, perfectly placed for Londoners in search of a peaceful night's slumber and evasion of city congestion. Placed firmly atop of green expanses, the hotel's Georgian façade houses 400 year-old oak beams and walls thick enough to block out cries from vehicles and 16th century ghouls. Nearby attractions include Elizabeth I's former home, Hatfield House, and Paradise Wildlife Park, both of which offer ample opportunity for green gazing and country living.
Groupon holders in search of a little country can enjoy two nights with breakfast at The White Horse Hotel, taking full advantage of hearty, healthy morning meals and the picturesque gardens which are overlooked by the restaurant's adjoining conservatory. A full afternoon tea is on hand to complete the quaintness, with scones, clotted cream and all the necessary jammy trimmings to fill Groupon tums with bready goodness for the journey home.
The afternoon tea includes:
Two home made scones
Freshly brewed tea or coffee

The location was excellent in a very pretty village. The staff were very helpful and courteous, and the choice of food was very impressive for both the evening meal and breakfast. The room itself was comfortable enough and clean.

It was a lovely hotel. The check-in was swift, even though we had arrived long before the scheduled check-in time. The room was pretty large. It had tea-making facilities and selected pay TV channels. The full English breakfast was excellent. I can't fault this hotel.
