About Dental Implants
Dental implants include crowns, bridges, or bonded dentures and consist of a titanium screw being fitted into the jaw to keep the replacement implant tooth or teeth firmly in position, and ensure they know their place. Firstly, the small screw will be fitted into the jaw, and will fuse with the bone over a healing period and act as an imitative root. Once the restorative period is over, customers will return to the dental surgery to have the replacement tooth or teeth fitted, in the form of a crown, bridge, or denture. The dentist should advise each client on proper aftercare advice and instructions for care at home. With proper care and attention a dental implant could last as long as a real tooth.
The Merchant
Deeply rooted in the art of implant dentistry, Dr Simon Darfoor utilises his 12 years’ experience to brighten smiles from a modern Harley Street clinic. With a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, Dr Darfoor believes in open communication between patient and practitioner to ensure procedures run smoother than newly polished tooth enamel. Other cosmetic dental treatments practiced include porcelain veneers and tooth whitening to help gnashers gleam.
The Session
Clients will receive a 30 minute initial consultation with x-rays and a report detailing the best plan of action. The implant is then fitted in a treatment lasting approximately 60 minutes, after which the bone grafting process begins, with a visit a week later to ensure everything’s going swimmingly. Approximately three months later, after implants have fused, a mould will be created to ensure new crowns fit snuggly, with the fitting procedure two weeks later leaving mouths with a new lease of life.
