When they first saw the ocean, humans gasped at the hitherto unknown monotony of their land-lubbing lives and ran to the trees to make surfboards. Wave goodbye to turfbound boredom with today’s Groupon: for £22 instead of £50 get a full day surf course at Ticket to Ride Surf Academy Perranporth.
Permanently poised and ready for the next wave to come pounding in on Perranporth Beach, Ticket to Ride’s big boss Will Hayler leads a pack of three surfing virtuosi with 73 years of experience between them. Director of coaching Julian Price has surfed in six countries, but the pull of Perranporth has got him so enthralled that he’s set up camp on one of Cornwall’s premier beaches. And because he’s a swell BSA level 2 instructor and beach lifeguard, shubees can becalm their safety worries and get well on their way to surfing nirvana.
Groupon holders in search of some gnarly knowledge get a full day’s tutelage with today’s deal. Both the morning and afternoon practical surf lessons are taught by the same instructor, and are roughly two hours long. Lunch is not included, so the surf serious should bring their own to keep the hang-ten hunger at bay.
Surfers have been swept away by the fun and friendly staff at Ticket to Ride Surf School. Users on TripAdvisor awarded the surf centre a top-notch 5/5 stars.
The coaches were great - enthusiastic, helpful, friendly, everything you could want. We progressed very quickly thanks to the competent coaches knowing what help we needed. The equipment was of a good standard and the staff at the base made sure we were kitted out with the right stuff.
