About the event
Camp In London is setting up camp in 19 hectares of greenery in East London. Shuttle buses are on hand to escort campers to the games during the day, while live entertainment is dished out in true festival format in the evenings. The two main five day festivals are the Eat Festival, with produce from local organic farmers, cheese and cider makers, and more, and the SeaHearDo Festival with art, music and performance on the bill. Day events include food tastings from Polynesia with Pacifica Day, as well as the signature Zimfest celebrating Zimbabwean culture.
With the glassy waters of Warwick reservoir setting a backdrop to the north, big screens will keep campers up-to-date with Olympic action or entertain with evening movies. Wi Fi zone can help laptops keep in touch with the goings-on while bars are on hand for hydration needs in the chill-out zones. Stalls and live entertainment are to hand as well as kids clubs with a mix of sporting games.
On site facilities include the showers and toilets, with lockers for safe securing services. If the shuttles don’t take camper’s fancy, cycle hire options are also on hand to explore London.
St. James street rail station, Walthamstow tube station, and Walthamstow Queens road over-ground station are the nearest stations.
