Extremely particular about their art, teapots are always trying to achieve the right blend. Get afternoon tea to a T with today’s Groupon: £28 for afternoon tea for two with Baron de Marck Gobillard Brut Champagne at the four star Corus Hyde Park Hotel.
With oodles of swank and a dab of swish, this four star hotel is a grand vision peering over the iconic Hyde Park in the heart of London. The 200 year old Georgian listed building blends a classic exterior with a modern interior, while two restaurants take care of burgeoning appetites. With live music and soulful jazz playing in the evenings, the Corus makes a merry song and dance for each and every guest .
Overlooking Hyde Park from the chic surrounds of the bar or lounge, peckish duos can indulge their afternoon fancies. A selection of loose leaf teas from around the world awaits, with traditional blends such as Earl Grey or Darjeeling presented alongside contemporary flavours like rooibos orange and eucalyptus on the menu. Home-made finger sandwiches, cakes, tartlets, and fresh scones are laid on thick, and a light glass of Baron de Marck Gobillard Brut Champagne complements the effervescent atmosphere.
The Corus hotel has attracted favourable comments from guests, with praise coming in for the quality of food available. Although some guests had a bit of a wait for service, they appreciated the varied menu, quality of cuisine and friendly staff.
Superb breakfast with all you can eat full English buffet. Well worth £10 upgrade. Reasonably priced Malaysian restaurant. The only regret is that I did not have time to try their restaurant with live opera singers - sounds fun. Will be returning.
