Some chefs tend to feel pretty sheepish after lambasting some mutton. Enjoy baa-rilliant food with today’s Groupon: £24 for a ten dish Moroccan meze for two with baklava, mint tea and a glass of wine each at La Menara.
A Middle Eastern taverna vivaciously stirred with sizzling, flavoursome fare, arabesque décor, and belly-dancers by special request, La Menara is one of the capital’s finest Moroccan eateries. Complementing the melodic Arabian music flickering in the background and the body cuddling cushioned sofas, the establishment is infused with terracotta walls and rustic furnishings, leaving diners spoilt for choice with tender tagines, vibrant couscous dishes, and regional meze platters.

Majestically placed on table spreads, the ten mouth-watering Moroccan dishes may include the likes of prawns dressed in a spicy tomato and garlic sauce (£4.75), minced lamb with parsley in Lebanese bread (£4.50), or grilled chicken wings in a garlic sauce (£4.50). Vegetarian meze dishes come in the shape of the tabouleh with finely chopped parsley, tomatoes, onions and mint (£3.75), or spicy potatoes embellished with garlic, red peppers, coriander and green chillies (£3.75). All Middle Eastern feasts will be sweetened with a helping of baklava (£3.95), washed down with a refreshing glass of mint tea (£1.95) and a glass of wine (up to £4.25).
Reviews
TripAdvisor users served up La Menara a tasty 4/5 stars. While some thought that the service could be improved, many diners praised the well-prepared food and cosy atmosphere.
The food was freshly cooked, full of flavour and truly divine, we had a selection of delicious mezze for starters followed by a variety of tagines, to name a few, lamb with prunes cooked until tender enough to be pulled apart and eaten with the fingers.
