Before the advent of seductively circular sushi, Japanese chefs battled with the concept of octagonal octopus orechiettes, parallelogram periwinkle parcels and the controversial tangerine and turbot triangles. Opt for a more conventional shape with today's Groupon: for £36 instead of £72, enjoy a four course Japanese tasting menu for two to share and a summer sorbet cocktail each at Loungelover.
A chic and exclusive restaurant and bar in east London, the vibrant and eclectic Loungelover is certainly not short of flamboyant flourishes. A hedonistic fusion of modern post-colonial decor with neo-Romanic elements and touches of the pure wacky, Loungelover is both beguiling and instantly loveable. Famed for its wide range of drinks and spirits as well as its wall-mounted model hippopotamus head, Loungelover also boasts an array of sushi sashimi and dishes. The broad and enticing menu flaunts a focus on Japanese cuisine, and diners can be sure the sushi-savvy chefs know how to please the palate.
With a specially designed four course taster menu on offer, appetites are appeased with an array of appealing aliments. For those seeking a bit of surf, dive in and be treated to fish dishes which include, among others, rock prawns, salmon tartare, crab salad and seabass with tomato and jalapeno salsa. Staying on dry land, enjoy items such as duck breast with nashi pears as well as the traditional favourite, edamame. To seal the stomach, indulge the sweet tooth with a mango mousse with lemon sorbet and exotic fruits.

Superb food, this place has some of the best sushi I've tasted. Everything that we had was perfect. I had a great time and our waitress was extremely helpful with the drinks selection. I had an Eight of Hearts which was a slightly spicy but perfect with the food.
