Last summer, Greg Rutherford, a 26-year-old long-jumper from Bletchley, hurled himself into the history books by winning gold at the London 2012 Olympic Games. And he's about to raise fans' temperatures again - only this time sitting still, wearing only his medal and a pair of Union Jack pants.

Groupon Asks

Groupon Asks Team GB’s long-jumping hero Greg Rutherford about art, chat-up lines and which pose he’s most likely to pull in the nearly nude.

G: What persuaded you to take part in this deal?
“It’s to promote an important cause. One of my close friends has been affected by testicular cancer, so I’m happy to get behind it.”

G: How nervous are you about getting practically naked in front of strangers?
“I've spent a big part of my life wearing Lycra in front of crowds – for athletics that is – so I figure, if I can do that, then this can’t be too daunting.”

G: Which part of your body are you most comfortable with and why?
“My legs and my backside. Mainly because they do the lion’s share of the work when I jump.”

G: Finish this sentence: “If I HAVE to strike a comedy pose during this class, it’ll be…” A) The Lightning Bolt, B) The Mobot, or C) me, mid-jump?
“I’d have to go for C) me, mid-jump.”

G: If someone wanted to chat you up while drawing you, what should they say?
“As long as it was something that made me laugh, we’d get on just fine.”

G: Last but not least – what’s your favourite piece of artwork and why?
“The Bayeux Tapestry. I'm into my history and you can't beat that in terms of the story behind it, and the intricacy of the work is just amazing.”
