Brimming with oomph, vivacity and gusto, Oktoberfest London is a pop-up party that combines a traditional East London knees-up with German gaiety. Gracing Shoreditch Park during the final two weekends of September, the festival supplies revellers with German bands and beer under an all-encompassing tent big enough for 2,400 people. The autumn ambience is heightened with staff decked out in Dirndl and Lederhosen serving Bavarian sausages to transport visitors’ minds and mouths across the continent.

With frothing half litre mugs of beer in their hands and a huge plate of Bavarian sausages in their tummies pairs can enjoy a mighty good time celebrating the 200 year old tradition on either 25 September or 2 October 2011. This year’s festivities feature two bands to entice revelry, featuring a real Oomph Band and southern rockers Albfetza. So get read to don your Dirndl and lay out your Lederhosen in anticipation.
