Little white lies come from desires to prevent hurt feelings, save face, or to take a brief nap in the snow. Drift off with today's Groupon: £15 for two hours of skiing or snowboarding, with equipment hire included, at The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead.
This indoor snow arena re-creates the powdery crispness and cool thrills of the mountains with a 160m main slope and one of the UK's largest indoor lesson slopes. State-of-the-art snow canons constantly ply the main slope with flurrying layers of snow to make amateur snowmen feel at ease, while enabling powder gliders smooth movement on their skis or snowboards. The snowy vertical challenges are accompanied by a teaching centre endorsed by the British Association of Snowsports Instructors and complementary facilities to confront the vanilla blanket.
Be snowed over with two hours of skiing or snowboarding, which includes all necessary equipment for skilful negotiation of the slopes. The two POMA button lifts will elevate ice monarchs to the top, enabling sliding down to the bottom on a gradient of about 15° in whichever way you prefer. Boots, helmets, poles and skis or snowboards are all included for snow gliders of proficient aptitude to use.
For your safety and other's, to purchase a Recreational Lift Pass you must be able to do the following and if you are not able to do these you will be removed from the slope:
1. Control Your Speed
2. Perform controlled linked turns
4. Use a button lift unassisted
5. Juniors must be accompanied by an adult on the slope who is also recreational standard.
Ski enthusiasts have been impressed by the knowledgeable and friendly staff at the Snow Centre. Google Maps users gave an average rating of 4.5 stars out of five, noting the excellent facilities and ‘real’ snow conditions.
Staff were all friendly, instructor was really good and can't fault the facilities or equipment at all. Would suggest avoiding a Friday if your more beginner level as the main slope gets set-up for the freestyle events but still a great place to get a genuine snow experience! Will definitely be heading back again

Visited from Snow Centre on 4 occasions and became a member. Excellent "real" snow conditions, excellent lessons and very modern and clean.
