Traditional eateries are often defined by classic decor, recognisable menus, and an insistence on ending every Sunday with a roast dinner. Savour unconventional classics with today's Groupon from The English Pig. Choose from the following options:
• £29 for two courses of British cuisine for two with a bottle of house wine (Up to 53% off)• £55 for two courses of British cuisine for four with two bottles of house wine (Up to 55% off)

Crafted by the innovative mind of Johnnie Mountain, who has featured on the BBC’s Great British Menu, The English Pig redefines the conventional concept of traditional British dining. An ever-changing menu exhibits the familiar ingredients of a quintessential eatery: wild woodland mushrooms and pork sausages, but turns them on their head with creative, 21st century twists. A wholesome ethos follows this restaurant into its Barbican setting, with Johnnie actively involved in promoting and encouraging sustainable pig farming practices.

Settling in to a dining room that, by juxtaposing country pub mahoganies and eclectic modernity, mirrors the novel nature of its menu, diners will begin a culinary journey. With a bottle of wine as companion, guests will peruse starters that have included roasted beetroot salad with goat curd (£6.60), and smoked mackerel pâté with horseradish (£7.90). As a restaurant defined by its relationship with piggies, guests may jump in head first and indulge in a chargrilled triple pork burger with chorizo jam and gruyere (£10.95). Other main courses have also included the traditional fish and chips with tartare, peas, and lemon (£9.50), and the soft penne with vibrant tomato, courgette, and basil (£11.50).
