Horses were once considered man’s best friend, but after the invention of the dog, they were rebranded as man’s eccentric, oat-obsessed uncle. Canter with your kin with today's Groupon: £39 for a three hour horse riding and grooming experience with equipment hire at Trent Park Equestrian Centre.
Proudly trotting out their status as a British Horse Society Equestrian Centre of Excellence, Trent Park is home to over 100 impressive beasts, all chomping at the bit to take part in hacking and riding lessons. The centre teaches horse lovers from London and the Home Counties, and provides activities ranging from cross country riding and pony days, to horse riding parties and impressive dressage competitions.
Riders of any skill level and hand height are welcome and will be assessed on their ability when arriving at the centre. The three hour experience begins with lessons on the horse-shaped bandwagon lasting one hour, followed by a session on caring for new pals. Beginners on horseback will be given a basic riding lesson, while intermediate riders will get chance to go for a hack in the woods. Following the introduction, assessment, and riding experience, riders will get chance to learn in small groups about the fine art of grooming a horse's sleek coat to a suitably mirror-like sheen.
