Teaching the art of wave-riding, the team at The Glaciere Maritime Academy knocks the wind into people's sails with an array of RYA and PADI courses for diving, sailing and power boating. The seaworthy crew is kept in check by Captain Dave Murray, and comprises qualified PADI instructors, yacht master instructors and professional sailors. They lend their expertise to wannabe shipmates teaching an array of diving courses, first aid sessions and the essentials of navigation.
Budding boaters from age 12 and up can jump on board this course which will look to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats. Taking place on the coastline, the syllabus will include getting to grips with launch and recovery, securing a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside and man overboard. Courses will be conducted in a variety of boat types and a certificate will be awarded at the end of the two day course to boot.
