The Expedition
The adult-only break offers active socialising and a breath of fresh air for the Great British holiday, taking two days to escape to tussock-y wilderness and heathered hillsides. Walkers can spend their arrival on Friday evening getting to know fellow walkers, enjoying a welcome buffet and taking part in a treasure hunt. Saturday hosts beginners’ hikes of six miles or more, to intermediate scrambles of up to 12 miles lead by local mountain leaders. While the day entails rugged and mountainous views, trundling through farmland, and vaulting styles, the evening will bring a roaring fire in the cosy hostel and a sociable meal to refuel. Sunday will slow down a pace with a leisurely walk on offer, and a chance to further explore Snowdonia.
