While flying high requires talent and dedication, it is equally important to keep a careful look-out for surly pigeons. Exercise a bird's eye view with today's Groupon: £65 for a half day paramotoring experience with Manchester Paragliders.

The sky's the limit for Manchester Paragliders, a collective of experienced instructors that take passengers on soaring journeys through the clouds and up to heights of 2,000 feet. Flying-mobiles include both the classic paraglider and its motorised counterpart, with the latter bringing along an extra boost of speed and power to adventures. The company happily floats on air, operating from 8am on Saturday and Sunday.

Thrill-seekers can enjoy a half-day introduction to paramotoring at the airfield in Astley. During a training session, participants will learn the basics of controlling a paraglider and experience the feel of having a lightweight motor attached to their back. A cup of tea or coffee can calm nerves before participants enjoy lift off, whizzing them up into the sky as part of a tandem flight with a member of staff. People can glide high above the dramatic lakes and landscapes of the North West, taking in views of Manchester, Liverpool or Bolton and the surrounding areas from up to 2,000 feet in the air or, alternatively, discover a bird's eye view of the local canals at a more relaxed 20 feet.
