About the Event
A veritable scrum of rampant rugby action, the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby 7s Series is the only sevens event featuring all 12 Guinness Premiership rugby union teams battling it out against each other. Rugby sevens offers matches played on full-sized pitches, but with seven rather than 15 players, resulting in fast-paced, exciting attacking rugby, and high-scoring games. Slimmed-down sides are divided into regional pools, with London, North, and South events on 13, 20 and 26 July 2012.
Match Preview
Fans of egg-shaped ball-based japery will be treated to a feast of rugby prowess on 20 July. Kicking off at 7pm, regional pool B features Premiership giants Leicester Tigers, defending sevens champions Newcastle Falcons, plus Northampton Saints and Sale Sharks. This will take place at Edgeley Park in Stockport, home of the Sale Sharks. These four titans of northern rugby will battle it out for the chance to finish in the top two, and advance to the Series Final in Bath on 3 August. The evening also includes live music and family entertainment.
