Award-winning fish and chip restaurant The New Metro Fish Bar has it all wrapped-up after having been awarded the coveted Britain’s Best Chip accolade shortly after it opened in 2009. Serving up hearty portions of one of Britain’s best loved meals, the chefs also rustle-up mussels, salmon dishes, and fishcakes made freshly on the premises. Starting as they mean to go on, dining pairs can dip into a starter each such as the prawn cocktail served with a slice of wholemeal bread (£5.99); or maybe try a portion of mussels adorned with a garlic and white wine sauce (£5.50). Sailing over to the mains, hungry eyes can choose a dish such as pan-fried salmon steak accompanied with a rocket salad, chips or mash (£11.95); or stay traditional with the Metro fish and chips: flakey fish deep-fried in a golden batter and served with tartar sauce (£10.95).
