Groupon Asks

Groupon finds out about Motiv8’s military past and the importance of enjoyment in exercise.

What’s the story behing Motiv8 personal training?
Gavin McColl founded Motiv8 in 2003, after spending time as a personal training instructor (PTI) in the army, and decided to apply the same motivational techniques and goal-focused approach to civilian fitness.

What sort of approach do they take?
The Motiv8 personal trainers strive to achieve positivity, setting achievable goals, which get progressively more demanding as fitness levels improve. The trainers try to make each session varied, enjoyable, and challenging.

How does the fitness test work?
The personal fitness test is specially designed to test all the major muscle groups, from upper body and lower body to core stability and cardio vascular ability. It gives a detailed breakdown of strengths and weaknesses that helps the trainer design a fitness programme to meet individual needs.
