Treating Manchester to a taste of Thailand for 25 years, Royal Orchid transports diners to a realm of grand pillars, luxurious furnishings, and fine Thai cuisine served up in style from the heart of the city. A team of experienced chefs compose meals with touches of perfection, whisking taste buds to the Far East through authentic recipes, while waiters pour a generous selection of beverages including Thai wines. A colonial-inspired interior is adorned with elegant colours, creating an intimate atmosphere for cosy dates or friendly get-togethers.
Dining sets of two or four can be seated for a regal meal comprised of a starter and main course each. Mouths can be sated with starters including Thai style aromatic duck with pancakes (£8.95), and pan fried battered mussels (£6.50). Moreish mains can take the shape of fish topped with Thai spicy salad (£15), or duck in Thai brandy sauce (£15), to name a few, and meals are accompanied with a large glass of wine (£4.50) to keep palates on their toes.
The Royal Orchid received tasty scores of 4/5 from Qype users and 3.5/5 courtesy of TripAdvisors. While some opinions have varied on service, and some felt their meals had been possibly cooked with a little too much oil, reviewers were generally pleased with the staff along with the quality and choice of dishes on offer.
We ordered the Drunken Chilli, Jungle Curry, coconut rice, steamed rice and banana in coconut milk for dessert. All of it was very delicious with good strong flavours and was highly aromatic.

The most amazing food we have tasted, such a beautiful atmosphere with lovely staff. If you have never tried Thai food before this is the perfect place.
