Woodland getaways are used by city dwellers, fatigued parents, and bank-robbing birds. Make a break for it with today’s Groupon: £99 for an overnight stay for two with six course meal, breakfast, bottle of wine and use of leisure facilities at Chevin Country Park Hotel & Spa.
Modern leisure facilities and an AA rosette awarded Lakeside Restaurant makes going down the woods in the Chevin forest and its 44 acres of grounds a welcoming and inviting prospect. While a Jacuzzi and outdoor hot tub allow urban worries to float away, the resident lakes invite guests for a spot of private fishing or tadpole steeplechase. Stunning views and captivating walks begin from the doorstep of the hotel room or log cabin, while stables are found a mile away for those who prefer to ride. The quaint market town of Otley resides nearby, with both York and Leeds well within scenic reach.
This retreat invites duos to lose themselves in rural and secluded surroundings for one relaxing evening. While the log fire burns, a six course meal will serve up fuel for the evening, including courses such as mini scallop and black pudding salad, goats cheese vol au vent, broccoli velouté, a noisette of lamb served with Dauphinoise potatoes and asparagus main course, vanilla poached pear and taster of Dunsyre Blue and grapes, washed down with a taste bud-tantalising bottle of wine. All of the leisure facilities bear open invitations, and after a night of serene slumber, breakfast will be served in the morning.
Chevin Country Park Hotel & Spa has received a great deal of positive reviews, and TripAdvisors rate their stay an impressive 4/5 stars. While some found décor old-fashioned, write-ups are overall very encouraging. Earning special mention by guests are the accommodating, personable staff, the level of service during meals and the quality of cuisine.

This was our second visit so we knew what to expect and were not disappointed. The room was comfortable and clean and the staff friendly. There was a wide choice of breakfast foods and we both thoroughly enjoyed our evening meals - couldn't fault the restaurant! There are many lovely country walks in the area and Otley is handy for shopping and if you’re looking for a good tea room try 'Victoria Plum' which at one time was the home of Thomas Chippendale.
