Built as a private residence in 1870, Durker Roods Hotel has been quietly looking after itself for years, culminating in a recent restoration to gloriously embrace both big celebratory ceremonies and small conference meetings. 31 bedrooms with full en suite facilities, fluffy towels, and free Wi-Fi greet guests and dogs alike, as boldly printed linen and dark wood period pieces provide a rich warmth to the hotel’s already opulent offerings. While its broad exterior is tinted with the traditional grandeur of rosy brown brick work, the interior is awash with natural light that beams in from three acres of mature woodland and tumbling lawns. The treats don’t stop there, as top quality food is available from Oscars Restaurant and tailored treatments from the in-house salon, Nail Nirvana.

Reviews

Booking.com users award the Durker Roods Hotel a cosy 7.9/10, while a king-sized 86% of LateRooms wish to stay at the hotel again, due to the comfortable rooms and warm atmosphere. Some find the décor slightly old-fashioned, but that the picturesque landscape makes up for it.

The hotel has a unique history and an atmosphere all of its own. Its traditional style and elegance has remained unspoilt over the years. A pleasure to visit.

Set in a lovely quiet location with very friendly helpful staff, this is a great hotel for a relaxing break. The hotel has been tastefully refurbished recently. Our standard bedroom was spacious with a good en suite and a generous selection of hot drinks and biscuits.
