Reined over by a duo of Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) instructors, JF Polo Academy whips up a turf storm with its assembly of ponies and purpose built facilities. Located in the picturesque Cheshire countryside, the training ground is suitable for all levels of budding player, coaching beginners to tournament competitors. The academy works with everyone from schools and universities, to corporate cliques, training them up from wooden horses to the real thing. 
Giving modern cow boys and girls a taste for the sport , the two hour lesson will introduce the pastime in four, 30 minute sections. An initial briefing will get things started, and is followed by a riding introduction, then a slot of swing instruction. The final half hour will see riding and swinging come together, rounded off by a celebratory nibble involving afternoon tea and cake. Those fancying a firmer footing in the girdle can trot up to the five hour experience, comprising four hours of practice and a game in the final hour, as well as a lunch of finger sandwiches to refuel half way through.
