For 120 years the love triangle between golfer, club, and ball has been played out on the lush expanses of Oldham Golf Club, within view of the neighbouring Cheshire Plain and Pennines. Alongside a testing par 66 course, renowned for its moorland setting and unforgiving rough, the club also boasts a pro shop stocked with equipment from all the leading brands. Resident PGA pro Jimmy Lister is on hand to offer advice and tuition, even taking time out to offer free children’s group lessons every Saturday.
Two one-to-one lessons are designed to help protégés of putting develop whichever aspect of their game they desire. The sessions last for 30 minutes and will see the PGA pro casting his experienced eyes over grip, posture, and swing, as he helps to tighten up drives, putts, and approach play. Those opting for the additional playing round will head out onto the course for four holes, giving James the chance to assess and tweak in real play, while clients can put new found techniques into practice.

Oldham Golf Club has received many fine reviews from impressed players. Although some golfers found the steep hill walks tiring, the challenging nature of the course and quality of club facilities merit high praise in visitor write-ups.
Played this today, greens are second to none, layout is good considering its not the biggest of courses. Some excellent holes, some panoramic holes, a couple of novelty holes and a couple of pitch n putt par 3's. Loved it, the weather was fantastic tho [sic] and I imagine a bit of wind would have made it difficult for any level of golfer.
