About The Event
The titans of the North West’s rugby union scene take on the champions of Europe, as Sale Sharks and Leinster come head-to-head for a crunching pre-season friendly. The clash takes place at Sale's new home at Salford City Stadium, inviting giants of international rugby to test out the facilities during an evening of smashing tackles, darting runs and heart-stopping scores. Leinster began the season with a stomping 33-22 home win over Gloucester, while Sale will be chomping at the bit try out new boys Richie Gray and Danny Cipriani.
The Venue
12,000 roaring voices fill the air of Salford City Stadium, a part-seated, part-standing venue just off the M60. The ground overlooks the old Ship Canal, and is located within a ten minute drive of Manchester city centre. Spectators will settle in among the standing crowds as they proudly display their preferred shade of blue, cheering and shouting from 8pm onwards. Halves last 40 minutes apiece and come with a ten minute interval during which tummies and thirst can be appeased by a range of on-site food and drink options.
